The St. Leo Dental Clinic was initiated in 1996 to give full dental care to children of working poor families who have no insurance and a special group of recently released prisoners who want to change their lives to become good citizens. The dental facility is located at St. Leo Church, Solana Beach, San Diego County, California. The areas served are the enclaves of the Beach Communities of North San Diego County (Del Mar, Solana Beach, Cardiff, Encinitas, Leucadia, Carlsbad and Oceanside). The children are given oral health education and complete dental treatment. Complete dental treatment for children includes: examinations, x-rays, cleaning, fluoridation, fillings, extractions, as well as referrals to specialists as needed. The men and women from the Welcome Home Ministry, who are recently released prisoners, are given full restorative treatment, giving them a healthy and attractive appearance to enter society and employment.
